Job Title: Carpenter Position Type: Full-time, salaried; (weekly) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team at Bass Commercial Concrete. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, steel, and other materials in commercial construction settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in formwork, concrete structures, and the ability to work collaboratively with other trades to ensure that all construction projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities: -Formwork Construction: Build and install wooden and metal forms for pouring concrete. -Structural Support: Install wooden and steel bracing, shoring, and scaffolding to support concrete structures during curing. -Framing: Construct and assemble wood, steel, or composite framing for walls, floors, and ceilings as part of the overall building structure. -Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the dimensions and materials required for each job. -Concrete Pouring: Prepare and install formwork for pouring concrete, ensuring alignment, leveling, and securing the structure during the curing process. -Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. -Collaboration: Work alongside concrete laborers, finishers, and superintendents to meet deadlines and specifications. -Quality Control: Ensure that all carpentry work is performed with precision and quality standards, including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials. -Maintenance and Repairs: Repair or replace defective or damaged carpentry as necessary. Position Requirements: -Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a carpenter in commercial construction, specifically with formwork and concrete construction. -Skills: o Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings. o Proficient in using hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, hammers, and measuring instruments. o Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices. -Certifications: o OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred. o First Aid/CPR certification is a plus. o Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors. Physical Requirements: -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. -Ability to stand, kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods. -Capable of working in outdoor and indoor environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. -Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated platforms. -Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving manual labor. -Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights safely.
