What You’ll Do at James & Whitney Co.: • Deliver high-quality trim work for doors and windows, both inside and out—down to the last detail. • Tackle wood rot repairs and fascia board replacements with precision and care. • Build, repair, and maintain beautiful, functional decks and outdoor living spaces. • Perform small-scale roof repairs, including shingle replacement and boot swaps, to keep homes secure and dry. • Collaborate with our Roof Rejuvenation Manager on specialized maintenance and treatment services. • Step in to support gutter installations as needed, contributing to seamless project execution. • Safely and confidently operate a wide range of power and hand tools. • Communicate job-site updates and changes clearly with Project Managers to keep clients informed. • Represent James & Whitney Co. with a clean, professional appearance on every site. • Apply a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship to every task. • Use strong time management and organizational skills to stay on top of project timelines and daily goals. CARPENTER/PAINTER

About the position The Carpenter/Painter position involves skilled structural and craft work in painting, plastering, and finishing surfaces of buildings. The role includes performing skilled painting tasks and carpentry duties, operating woodworking machinery, and supervising unskilled workers. This position is part of the Facilities Management team and requires adherence to safety practices and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Responsibilities • Perform skilled painting tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade. , • Conduct rough and finish carpentry work. , • Operate power-driven woodworking machinery. , • Supervise one or more unskilled workers as needed. , • Receive work assignments in the form of oral or written instructions, sketches, or plans. , • Work as part of the Facilities Management team during inclement weather conditions. Requirements • Two years of experience and/or vocational training in the paint trade. , • Two years of education and/or experience in carpentry. , • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices of the painting trade. , • Ability to apply paints and other finishes by brush or air gun. , • Ability to climb and work from scaffolding or at heights. , • Ability to understand and execute oral and written orders without immediate supervision. , • Knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques.
