Key Responsibilities: • Build, repair and install counters, stairs, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework and trim. Installs new locks, repairs existing locks, modifies locks to the new key system, cut keys, provides input on rekeying of existing buildings and key sequences for new buildings. Reviews drawings and specifications to ensure CPS keying practices are followed. • Assembles furniture and other items purchased by CPSD. Loads, delivers and unloads items to CPSD schools and other locations. • Use carpenters and other trades hand and power tools. Maintains tools and equipment in good and safe working order. Perform preventative maintenance on building envelopes and equipment. • Responsible for work order handling and processing. Verify field/shop measurements, notify supervisors of discrepancies. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all time. Report any unsafe working conditions or faulty equipment. • Order material as required by the project and approved by supervisors. • Occasional work outside the carpentry field is required, such as snow removal, materials transportation, moves, etc. • Other duties as assigned.
