Chief Financial Officer - Gila Regional Medical Center

• *Relocation to the Silver City, NM area required** Gila Regional Medical Center is a not-for-profit, 25-bed critical access hospital services all of Southwest New Mexico where exceptional care meets compassionate service. Summary: As a member of Gila Regional Medical Center's senior management team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will participate in the financial and functional decision-making processes necessary for the successful attainment of the hospital's mission, in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare matters that could have an impact on the success of the hospital.This role requires relocation to the county this facility is located. Duties and Responsibilities: • Overall financial operations of the critical access facility including accounting, budgetary, audits, tax, and other financial planning activities within the hospital organization; including management of respective department heads • Working with system management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans. • Providing financial leadership to hospital managers, directors and officers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participation in decisions that impact the hospital. • Ensuring the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements. • Contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue. • Managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. • Analyzing areas in planning, promoting, and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities. • Representing the hospital at meetings including medical staff, hospital board of trustees meetings as well as relevant community meetings as needed. • Participating in the hospital's monthly operation reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary. • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading the department/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations and expense approvals. • Interaction and presentations to the Board on a regular basis. • Other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, the Board, and community. • Knowledge and practical experience with Critical Access Hospitals and management of operations. • Demonstrated ability to cope with and manage change, maintain relationships with emotional maturity and self-motivation. • Experience to include strategic oversight with an emphasis on financial reporting analysis and cash flow management. • Revenue cycle knowledge and problem-solving skills. • Expense management. • Public relations abilities. • Excellent verbal and listening skills. • Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personnel, financial or medical matters. • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading the department/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations and expense approvals. Work Experience, Education, and Certifications: • Previous CFO level or equivalent experience within a Critical Access Hospital environment required. • Previous experience within a non-profit environment. • Minimum 5 years or the equivalent of financial/accounting progressive managerial experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment. • Minimum 3 years of experience with Revenue Cycle. • Must be proficient in written and verbal communication skills. • Master's level education and CPA preferred. • Construction and financing of a replacement facility desired • Applicable certification(s) preferred. The Construction observer will be the project representative on site, confer with the Engineer, contractors work in progress, project meetings, and coordinate with materials testing labs. The Construction Observer will be the Owner and Engineer's representative on site for infrastructure construction projects.Your Key Responsibilities Project Representative ("PR"), assistants, and other field staff to assist Engineer in observing progress and quality of the Work. PR is Engineer's agent at the Site, will act as directed by and under the supervision of Engineer, and will confer with Engineer regarding PR's actions. Review the progress schedule, schedule of Shop Drawing and Sample submittals, and pay applications prepared by Contractor and consult with Engineer concerning acceptability. Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings. Serve as Engineer's liaison with Contractor, working principally through Contractor's superintendent, assist in providing information regarding the intent of the Contract Documents. Report to Engineer when clarifications and interpretations of the Contract Documents are needed and transmit to Contractor clarifications and interpretations as issued by Engineer. Conduct on-Site observations of Contractor's work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the Work is in general proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. Maintain electronic files for correspondence, reports of job conferences, reproductions of original Contract Documents. Prepare a daily report, weather conditions, data relative to questions of Change Orders, Field Orders, Work Change Directives, or changed conditions, Site visitors, daily activities, decisions, observations in general, and specific observations in more detail as in the case of observing test procedures. Review Applications for Payment with Contractor for compliance with the established procedure for their submission and forward with recommendations to Engineer, noting particularly the relationship of the payment requested to the schedule of values, Work completed, and materials and equipment delivered at the Site but not incorporated in the Work. Immediately notify Engineer of the occurrence of any Site accidents, emergencies, acts of God endangering the Work, damage to property by fire or other causes, or the discovery of any Constituent of Concern. Participate in a Substantial Completion (pre-final) inspection and assist in the determination of Substantial Completion and the preparation of lists of items to be completed or corrected.Your Capabilities and Credentials Excellent communication skills: verbal, writing, electronic communications, and presentations.
