See some of our most successful DIY projects on our site: https://www.ehdw.com Job Summary: The Carpenter is responsible for producing all milled parts for production, maintenance of shop tools, infrastructure, and equipment, and leading carpentry-based build-outs such as machine tables, jigs, and other custom shop fixtures. While our team produces over 40-unique products, this is a hands-on production role that will involve repetitive tasks during production runs. You’ll work closely with other Production team members to read blueprints, improve production processes, and fabricate parts using equipment such as table saws, table sleds, line boring machines, miter saws, drill presses, routing stations, drum sanders, and more. You'll be expected to set up your tools and equipment for each job, understand and maintain tight tolerances, take accurate measurements using the metric system, and use measurement tools such as calipers to ensure consistency and quality. In addition to physical progress tracking tools like Travelers, you’ll use digital manufacturing softwares like Fulcrum to log work progress, maintain production records, and maintain accurate material inventory on the shop floor. This role reports to the Production Foreman. Your onboarding process will consist of: • 1:1 training with your manager and other Carpenters / Lead Carpenters on the team • Studying written manufacturing instructions and blueprints for each project • Shadowing Carpenters, Lead Carpenters, and other Production team members to learn operational workflows related to maintenance, equipment set up and breakdown, Travelers, Shop organization & safety, and more Requirements • 3 - 7 years of experience in carpentry • High school diploma or equivalent • Must possess a valid driver's license and must have a reliable form of transportation • Available Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime and Saturdays (with advanced notice) • Must be able to pass a background check • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of process improvements • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other forms of written or digital plans • Ability to design and set up ‘jigs’ to assist in consistent shaping of materials • Comfortable using digital calipers for measuring parts and measurements in the metric system • Comfortable and careful with power tools, both handheld and industrial • Strategic operator – you take pride in examining a process and identifying ways to improve it by reducing costs or streamlining steps • Innovative – you have ideas about how to enhance the business, and you’re eager to share them • Self-starter – you show up ready to work.
