Carpenter Overview The Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects. Requirements for Carpenter: • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license • Prior experience as a general laborer or carpenter in the construction industry • Ability to read & interpret blueprints accurately • Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in fractions, measurements, and reading a tape measure • Capable of working in all weather conditions • Ability to lift in excess of 100 lbs and push/pull 75 lbs • Must be able to distinguish color clearly Benefits for Carpenter: • Employer paid premiums for medical, dental and vision benefits • Benefits start day one of employment • 401 k program Responsibilities for Carpenter: • Assist supervisors and foremen with various tasks • Prepare and organize construction sites, including clearing hazards and handling materials • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall per blueprints • Use hand and power tools to construct, install, and secure structures, including windows, doors, and temporary scaffolding • Ensure accuracy and compliance with building and safety codes using measuring tools and surveying equipment • Construct wooden forms for concrete, tunnels, bridges, and sewer projects. • Perform additional duties as assigned EOE Penn State Construction is an equal opportunity employer, prohibiting discrimination and harassment based on any protected characteristic under federal, state, or local laws.
