Must submit to a background check and drug screen, be knowledgeable in residential construction (all phases), including setting trusses; and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Will construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools and conforming to local building codes. Will participate in most types of restoration carpentry work, along with new construction. Varied and interesting projects. Will participate in mold and mildew remediation or disaster recovery (emergency response) work. WILL be expected to participate in on-call rotation or be called out on emergency work when not on-call if conditions necessitate. Will mentor helpers. Along with trades qualifications, must be able to read blueprints, follow oral and written directions, be capable of completing required paperwork. Must possess physical capability to see well (naturally or with correction), coordinate movements of eyes, hands and fingers, use hands, arms and fingers fully, climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at heights as required. On-going training/education with potential to gain certifications. REQUIREMENTS: Current, valid PA Driver's License, good driving record and reliable transportation, high school diploma/GED certification, clean background, basic set of hand tools. Qualifications: • Minimum of 7 years experience as a Carpenter • Experience making repairs • Must be able and work regular schedule of : Day shift, Tuesday through Saturday 6:00am until 2:30pm. • Must be flexible and willing and able to work other shifts or hours if needed. Other requirements: • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance • Valid driver's license from state of residence and ability to drive, if applicable for site • License must have been valid for at least 3 years • Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency's insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and procedures • Candidates with disabilities preferred Essential Personnel: This position is designated as essential.
