This position entails supporting general carpentry tasks on our Hurlburt SABER Contract. This person would work closely with the project execution team (project manager, superintendents, quality controls, laborer, etc.) in supporting carpentry tasks on multiple task orders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power tools • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment • Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools • Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools • Inspect ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures • Install sheetrock on ceilings and walls and finish using tape and mud to a level 4 finish • Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings, using paint, hand tools, or paneling • Fill cracks or other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patching plaster, trowel, and sanding tool Minimum Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) • Valid Driver’s License • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening • Current (within 3 years of hire date) Federal OSHA 10-hour Construction Certificate (or completion of the course prior to employment) Additional Qualifying Factors: As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
