Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of concrete forming and installation processes, as well as experience with various hand tools and construction techniques. This role involves working on diverse projects, including residential and commercial builds, where attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are paramount. Responsibilities • Assist in the preparation and pouring of concrete for various structures, including foundations, slabs, and walls. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate execution of project specifications. • Perform concrete forming tasks, ensuring proper alignment and support for structures. • Engage in trim carpentry work as needed to enhance the overall finish of concrete installations. • Apply caulking and stucco finishes to achieve desired aesthetics and weatherproofing. • Utilize hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing concrete surfaces. • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the project duration. • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks on the job site. Requirements • Proven experience in concrete forming, installation, or related construction fields is preferred. • Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings is essential. • Proficiency in using hand tools relevant to concrete work is required. • Knowledge of trim carpentry techniques is a plus. • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy materials when necessary. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. • A valid driver’s license may be required based on job site locations. This role will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. Other duties will include cutting and measuring materials according to a client's requirements. A successful Carpenter is hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements. • Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed. • Cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other material according to measurements. • Building window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. • Assembling furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items, and installing them where designated. • Inspecting places and conducting repairs or maintenance. • Building scaffolding and other construction structures. • Finishing trim and rough carpentry • Touching up and punch-listing all trim and drywall items, as well as fixing door and hardware issues. • Other duties as needed. Qualifications: • High school diploma. • Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program preferred. • Proven experience as carpenter. • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials. • Punchlist experience. • Completion of OSHA 10 or ability to complete. • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel. • Enjoy dealing with people. • Willingness to do non-trade specific items. • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.). • Ability to read technical documents and drawings. • A willingness to always follow safety guidelines. • Strong understanding of basic math. • Good communication and organizational skills. • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in carpentry, • Basic knowledge of: • General repairs/maintenance work • Basic appliance and HVAC repair (replacing fixtures, installing parts) • Plumbing and electrical • Positive Attitude • Initiative • Flexibility • Multi-Tasking • Sense of Urgency Why Join Sevan? YOU MUST BE LOCATED IN THE LOCAL AREA TO THE JOB! YOU MUST HAVE A TWIC CARD OR BE ABLE TO AQUIRE ONE. YOU NEED TO HAVE 5 YEARS OR MORE EXPRIENCE. YOU MUST HAVE EXPRIENCE PILE CAPS AND WALLS. Summary Builds rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters and finishes concrete by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Examines specifications to determine dimensions of structure. • Measures boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines on materials. • Saws boards and plywood panels to required sizes. • Nails cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms. • Braces forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts, for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls. • Erects chutes for pouring concrete. • Cuts and assembles timbers to build trestles and cofferdams. • Builds falsework to temporarily strengthen, protect, or disguise buildings undergoing construction. • Erects scaffolding for buildings and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways. • Places and finishes concrete using bull float, hand trowel, and other equipment as needed. • Cuts expansion joints in concrete using saws.
