Stairways, doorframes, partitions, rafters, cabinetry, siding, and drywall are a few examples of the types of onsite tasks this position is responsible for completing. Carpenters pay great attention to project detail and have a strong understanding of wood and metal properties. Carpenters are also required at various times to do virtually all the carpenter support activities performed by laborers. This is a safety sensitive position. Position Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • Valid Driver’s License required. • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program. • Must be able to take initiative and ask questions. • Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions. • Workers must provide their own safety footwear. • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders. • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills. • Must be reliable and punctual. This includes having reliable transportation and consistent work attendance. Preferred Qualifications: • Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading. • OSHA 10 Certification. • CPR & First Aid Certification. Essential Duties: • Assist with assembly and removal of concrete forms used for concrete installation. • Assist with building and installing window‐frames, doors, doorframes, staircases, stairways, partitions, millwork, trim, siding, drywall, and overall building frames. • Ensure that layout of flooring, roofing, and drywall are leveled and compatible. • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp project requirements. • Measure and calculate the size and amount of material needed. This includes cutting, shaping, and smoothing wood or other required materials according to requested measurements. Assist with handling, transporting, and setting door frames. • Load, unload, identify and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools. • Job shadow in area assignments to ensure project knowledge and skill progression. • Assist with area housekeeping. • Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards. This includes helping to secure the jobsite at the end of business each day and verifying that all site materials are properly stored. Physical Work Classification & Demands: • Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. • The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity. • Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite. • Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone. • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration. • Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read and understand blueprints, load charts, and take/verify field measurements. • Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. • Working from heights – the person must be comfortable and able to work from heights for extended amounts of time. • Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. • Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. • Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time. • Grasping – Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly. • Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. • Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures. • Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. • Use of hands and wrists with various tools. • Prolonged use of jackhammer and pavement breaker. • Use of wheelbarrows and brooms. • Repetitive use of hands and wrists using power, rotational, and vibration tools including prolonged use of jackhammers and pavement breakers. • Tolerate legally permissible exposure to dusts and chemicals, such as cement dust, solvents, and curing compounds. • The person must be able to safely wear a respirator and is able to pass applicable medical and fit testing examinations. • Must be able to hear commands from supervisors and back-up safety alarms on equipment. Job Title - Carpenter Location – Various International locations Resumes are reviewed as submitted and staffed based on project need. What You Will Do • Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel. • Cut, fit, and assemble lumber and plywood, and other materials to be used as concrete forms. • Set forms for concrete construction; erect scaffolding; or do finishing work. • Measure accurately and mark precise cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. • Verify trueness of structure, set grade, check for plumb, etc. • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, or power tools. • Read specifications, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and form drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools. • Select and quantify lumber and other required materials. • Performs other duties as may be assigned. • Working Conditions– Construction setting, travel required, full time. Commercial Concrete Carpenter

General description: The Concrete Carpenter will perform a variety of carpentry tasks. This individual will work with others and will be under the direction of a Foreman for the successful completion of each building. This person works very diligently with their hands and pays close attention to detail. Tasks include erecting and setting forms for concrete structures, foundations, buildings, and site work per specifications and drawings. This may include concrete tilt-wall forms, symon forms and/or structural forms for columns, decks, elevator cores, parking garages and other cast-in-place concrete structures. Responsibilities: • Fabricate and assemble tilt up panels. • Able to form footings, column pads and other structural concrete. • Install and align embedded items such as anchor bolts, inserts and lifting hardware. • Assist with layout as needed. • Strip forms after panels are poured. • Maintain and keep track of tools. Requirements: • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. • Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks as needed. • Knowledge of tilt up panels and the process (preferred) • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Able to work weekends if needed. • Able to provide basic hand tools for carpentry. • OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain one. Working conditions: • Work outside in various working conditions. • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
