JOB Job summaryThis position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of the sewer collection system. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Major DutiesAssists in the installation and maintenance of sewer mains and lines; locates and repairs leaks, Assists in maintenance of the sewer right-of-way.Installs sewer taps.Distributes chemical agents into the sewer system to prevent blockages and ensure proper flow.Sets manholes.Installs traffic control devices at work sites.Inspects and maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.Performs general landscaping duties at work sites.Completes work orders.Responds to customer complaints, questions, and concerns and resolves customer service issues.Performs related duties. Supervisory ControlsThe Sewer Collection Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results. GuidelinesGuidelines include safety guidelines and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application. Complexity/Scope of WorkThe work consists of related maintenance duties. Inclement weather and field conditions contribute to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to participate in the repair and maintenance of the sewer system. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of system operations.
