Carpenter Shop General Supervisor (Craft Foreman Supervisor)

A unit within CPF, Facility Operations , maintains our physical campus to support research, teaching, and learning at Indiana University Bloomington. As a unit of Capital Planning and Facilities, Facility Operations provides wide-ranging services all with the goal of creating a beautiful, well-functioning campus. Job Summary • Provides day-to-day guidance and serves in a lead capacity to craft work staff while also performing the responsibilities of the role of craft foreman supervisor. • Sets schedules, establishes priorities, trains, and monitors performance of craft work staff. • Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; may participate in recruiting, hiring, and selection. • Tracks issues and concerns among craft work staff; troubleshoots and reports to supervisor as appropriate. • Provides training to assigned staff to improve efficiency; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff. • Tracks issues and concerns among craft work staff; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems. Qualifications EDUCATION Required • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) WORK EXPERIENCE Required • 4 years in related field SKILLS Required • Proficient communication skills • Maintains a high degree of professionalism • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment • Highly thorough and dependable • Possesses a high degree of initiative • Ability to build strong customer relationships Working Conditions / Demands This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate.
