HOURS: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, some weekend work LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN PAY RATE: $23-$25/hr (depending on experience) Responsibilities for Carpenter/Metal Stud Framer • Must be able to cut, fabricate and install metal, wooden and other structures according to specifications • Must be able to work in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products • Must be able to utilize electric or hand tools to install wall system • Must be able to work with materials like sheet rock, steel frames, and drywall • Must be able to size and cut metal studs, install tracks and walls, and finish with drywall • Must be to perform work outside in a variety of weather conditions • Must be able to assemble ladders or other equipment to perform their work • Must be able to ensure all equipment is properly assembled and meets safety regulations • Must be able to utilize tools like a level to ensure their work is done correctly • Must have physical strength and ability to lift and carry 80 lbs. • Must be able to strictly adhere to safe work practices, including keeping the work area free of debris and other safety hazards • Must be able to work without supervision • Must be able to read and understand blueprints • Must be able to do layout  Must be able to give directions • Must be able to oversee carpenter helpers and general laborers Requirements for Carpenter/Metal Stud Framer • Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors. • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements • Cut, shape and install metal studs according to measurements • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items • Lay out flooring, roofing or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance • Build scaffolding and other construction structures • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications. • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings. • This position also requires strict adherence to safe work practices, including keeping the work area free of debris and other safety hazards.
