Skilled Carpenter

As a skilled carpenter, you are a key member of our team responsible for quality repairs and installations of commercial acoustical ceilings, acoustical panels, and specialty wood, metal and felt suspended ceilings. You will build customer relationships and uphold our standard for excellent customer service. You should have a background in skilled carpentry and have proven communication skills with supervisors, co-workers and customers. You should be self-motivated, thrive in fast-moving environments and able to manage time to efficiently meet deadlines. Job Summary · Install new ceilings and repair existing ceilings from small restaurant repairs to large all new schools and hospitals · Communicate with general contractors about scope of work · Ensure the efficient use of materials and maintain adequate stock to complete projects Responsibilities · Basic selection of hand tools that are necessary to perform the work · Examine a problem situation and come up with a resolution in a prompt and professional manner · Communicate with general contractor’s superintendents and co-workers verbally and in writing, in English, in a courteous and professional manner · Provide excellent customer service, have an outgoing friendly personality, and professional presentation and appearance · Must safely perform jobs and comply with OSHA safety regulations Qualifications · Skills in basic carpentry · Balance to walk stilts · Able to work independently without supervision · Goal-oriented self-starter and a team player · 1 year experience in construction is preferred · Must have a valid driver’s license and mode of transportation · Willing to travel Background check and drug testing required Company DescriptionWe are family owned business and have been providing quality acoustical ceilings, drywall grid ceilings, acoustical wall panels, clouds and canopies, and specialty wood and metal ceilings for over 35 years to Indiana and the surrounding states. Commercial Carpenter Job Description The construction carpenter performs tasks involving physical labor on construction job sites. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, frame wall, install blocking, erect scaffolding, install ceiling grid, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.
