Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented TIG Welder who specializes in stainless steel to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in TIG welding techniques and a deep understanding of stainless-steel properties to ensure precise, clean, and durable welds. This role is critical to producing high-quality parts, assemblies, and custom fabrications that meet or exceed our engineering and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities: Welding & Fabrication: • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components of varying thicknesses, primarily from 16-gauge to 1/4 inch. • Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently. • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately to meet tight tolerances. • Ensure welds are clean, strong, and visually inspected to maintain a high standard of craftsmanship. Quality Control: • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. • Perform self-inspections and participate in quality assurance checks. • Follow internal quality procedures and meet customer-specific welding standards. Safety & Maintenance: • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies. • Use appropriate PPE and adhere to safety protocols. • Perform routine maintenance on welding tools and equipment. Teamwork & Communication: • Collaborate with team members including fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production. • Provide feedback on design or fabrication issues to improve efficiency and quality. Qualifications: Required: • 2+ years of TIG welding experience, focused specifically on stainless steel. • Strong understanding of stainless-steel welding techniques (e.g., back purging, controlling heat input). • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and welding symbols. • Familiarity with various joint configurations (butt, lap, corner, etc.). • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Preferred: • AWS certification or equivalent in TIG welding (GTAW). • Experience with sanitary welding or food-grade stainless steel applications. • Background in manufacturing, industrial, or custom fabrication settings.
