Job Overview The Boilermaker field personnel will perform all manner of boiler and pressure vessel repairs and fabrication. Work will be in shop and/or filed locations. Scope • Perform re-tube on fire-tube boilers, water-tube boilers, and heat exchangers. • Remove and replace refractory on boilers and driers. • Remove and replace insulation and casing on boilers. • Fabrication of new or replacement components or equipment. • Receive instructions, prints, and work orders to plan and execute assigned job tasks. • Plan and coordinate tools, equipment, and material requirements for assigned job tasks Responsibilities • Treat All Customers and Fellow Employees with Respect. This includes respect for people, business, and property. • Communication with customers- before, during, and before you leave the jobsite. • Work with Code Services Staff (Division or Project manager, QC Manager and Quality Control Technician) to provide prompt response to scheduled and/or emergency service. Provide feedback with regard to work required, work performed, customer requirements, etc. • Practice safe work habits and support, monitor, and assist in the enforcement of safety practices and policies. • Comply with Rasmussen Mechanical Company Policies. • Comply with all paperwork requirements including: • Daily time reporting • Completion of Service Orders • Completion of Service Reports • Material Check out/Check In sheets • Job Safety Analysis • Vacation/Sick/ Time-off requests • Quality Control Requirement • Work within Rasmussen Quality Control Program, including acting as Quality Control Designee for: • Completion of Job Data Sheet, Hydrotest Report • Material Receiving • Weld Inspector • VT/PT Inspector • Coordination of Subcontractors including Heat Treatment and NDE • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. This includes maintenance of tools and equipment (and reporting of required maintenance- as applicable). • Be available to attend training programs, schools, seminars, etc. as requested by Department Manager. • Assist in the ongoing training of other company team members and junior employees. • Perform other duties as required and/or directed by Code Services Staff • Support Other Divisions of Rasmussen Mechanical as required. Experience • Welding Experience Preferred • Knowledge of tools and equipment Skills • Use of Welding, cutting (torching), electric, and pneumatic tools. • Fabricate by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. • Welded Repair utilizing appropriate welding techniques and equipment. • Layout and fitting of metal and insulating materials work. Includes use of tape measure. • Insulation and Refractory work • Must be able to speak and understand English clearly. • Must be able to follow directions. • Use of electronic tools including but not limited to UT thickness and Air Monitor. Education/Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED. • Welding education or certifications preferred. • Being able to pass a 6G 6010 root 7018 cap on 2" schedule 80 pipe strongly preferred. Physical Requirements • Work involves considerable stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, and working in confined spaces and on overhead structures and scaffolds. • Considerable glare emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. • Possess good vision (normal or corrected). • Must be able to lift 51 lbs. continually and 75-80 lbs. occasionally. • Must be able to enter a boiler through the manway. • Must possess valid driver license.
