Job Title: Setup Welder Type: Full Time Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00a-4:30p Department: Metal Fabrication Reports To: Metal Fab Supervisor SUMMARY Assist Welder to position, align, and fit together fabricated plates, structural shapes, and weldments preparatory to assembly into structural fabricated products by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Take direction from Welder they are setting up for. • Hold, position, and read tape or rod to assist in layout. • Place and move blocking, braces, and jigs to hold parts. • Hammer wedges and drift pins, and turn turnbuckles. Pull pry bars to align parts. • Grind or chip rough edges, surplus weld, or scale. • Position and turn clamps, and bolts together butt straps or parts. • Transport and furnish welding materials, tools, and supplies. • Utilize engineering drawings which display dimensional characteristics. • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Perform other routine duties. • Attendance and dependability are essential job functions, you must accurately complete the daily duties assigned.
