Key responsibilities: Tack and weld metal components to engineering drawings Check the quality of parts before and after welding Measure, grind, and fettle welded parts using air and electric hand tools Support general workshop duties as required (training provided) We’re looking for a Welder with: Ability to weld to BS EN ISO 9606-1 and BS EN ISO 5817 standards (or similar) Ability to read and work from technical drawings A positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach Good communication and teamwork skills Flexibility and attention to detail Training and Qualifications: You’ll complete a company welding test before starting, and once onboarded, you’ll be trained to BS EN ISO 5817 welding standard. Working in a modern, well-equipped facility, this role plays a vital part in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality metal components. Key Responsibilities • Tack and weld metal components to specification, ensuring accuracy and quality at all stages of production. • Check and measure components before and after weld against drawings and tolerances. • Carry out grinding, fettling, and finishing using air and electric hand tools. • Work safely and efficiently, maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation. • Support team performance targets and contribute to continuous improvement. • Undertake other reasonable duties as required, with appropriate training provided. Candidate Requirements • Ability to weld to AWSD1.1 and AWSD15.1 (UK equivalents: BS EN ISO 9606-1 and BS EN ISO 5817) is advantageous. • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings. • Strong practical welding and fabrication skills with a hands-on approach. • Reliable team player with good communication skills. • Willingness to work flexibly and uphold safe working practices. • Good attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship. Physical Demands: This role involves manual work and handling heavy components with lifting aids such as magnetic and chain hoists. Salary & Hours • Early Shift: £15.60 per hour (6:00am - 2:00pm) • Late Shift: £16.60 per hour (2:00pm - 10:00pm) • Flexibility: Higher rate available for welders qualified to AWSD1.1 / AWSD15.1 standards. • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
