Welder/Fabricator

We are seeking skilled and experienced Welders/Fabricators to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities • Fabrication: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and fabrication methods. • Welding: Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, to assemble and repair metal parts and structures. • Preparation: Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly prepared and maintained. • Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. Make necessary adjustments to maintain precision. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning. • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Qualifications • Proficient in blueprint reading and fabrication techniques • Skilled in various welding methods including MIG and TIG welding • Experience with hand and power tools, as well as basic math skills • Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety measures • Knowledge of rigging, mechanical systems, and pipe threading • Ability to operate cranes and forklifts, and use calipers and micrometers • Understanding of sheet metal work and ductwork fabrication Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $21.82 - $26.27 per hour Shift: • 8 hour shift Ability to Commute: • Springfield, MA 01128 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Springfield, MA 01128: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person

Welder

Responsibilities • Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis • Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality • Perform all position welding following prescribed procedures • Must be able to position fabricated components in fit-up jigs and fixtures and use turning rigs when necessary • Responsible for the high quality of product and good safety habits • Responsible for the safety and training of others • Responsible for compliance with all documented procedures and employee handbook • Responsible for the quality and quantity of the finished product • Responsible for creating and maintaining a working team environment • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping • Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance on associated equipment • Responsible for safety, quality, and production with limited supervision • Able and required to weld all products within the business unit • Must be willing to cross train and fill in as necessary in other departments • Perform any additional tasks as requested by the Team Leader Qualifications • Minimum of 1 year welding experience • Be able to read assemblies, and welds from blueprints • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage • Must be able to read a tape measure and be trained to operate overhead crane

Traveling Welder - Northeast

Purpose/Scope: To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a welding for precast panels. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to caulk precast concrete panels • Takes work direction from welding crew foreperson • May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson • Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner • Handles equipment in a responsible manner • Follows established safety procedures and policies Basic Qualifications: • 3G & 4G Certified Welder • AWS Certification Other Required Qualifications: • Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times • Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms above 20 ft • Ability to obtain membership to local Laborers union • General knowledge of construction practices • Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation • Ability to travel extensively (50% of the time or more, including overnights) and work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications: • 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience • High school diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements: • Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer Work Environment: • Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
