This role requires expertise in various welding processes, blueprint reading, and adherence to strict quality and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities • Welding Operations: Perform high-quality welding using processes such as SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-Core), and/or GTAW (TIG) on structural steel, stainless steel, and other metals as per project requirements. • Fabrication: Cut, shape, assemble, and fit metal components using tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, and shears to create precise fabrications. • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. • Quality Control: Inspect welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with AISC standards, AWS (American Welding Society) codes, and project specifications. • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. • Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards. • Documentation: Record work performed, including weld logs and inspection reports, to maintain traceability and compliance with AISC requirements.
