Production Manager

Production Manager About Us: Griffin Welding is a leading structural steel, Misc Steel and component fabricator specializing in high-quality, AISC-certified projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery. We’re currently seeking a skilled Production Manager with AISC experience to lead and manage our fabrication operations. Job Summary: As the AISC Production Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the production process to ensure compliance with AISC standards, drive operational efficiency, and lead a team of supervisors, welders, fitters, and shop personnel. You will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, maintaining quality and safety standards, and collaborating with project management to meet customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day production operations in a structural steel fabrication shop. • Ensure compliance with AISC quality management systems and fabrication standards. • Supervise and mentor production staff including foremen, welders, fitters, and machine operators. • Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and project management to ensure production deadlines are met. • Develop and implement production schedules and staffing plans. • Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards. • Conduct regular quality control checks and audits in line with AISC procedures. • Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of production staff. • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions as needed. Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role. • Strong knowledge of AISC standards and quality requirements (certification experience highly preferred). • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Experience reading and interpreting structural steel drawings and blueprints. • Solid understanding of welding, fitting, and fabrication techniques. • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office Suite and TEKLA. (Tekla preferred, but can train.) • OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
