You will operate appropriate equipment to join together subassemblies and components or parts with a great deal of precision. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and an eye for great attention to detail. Requirements: Daily Duties/Responsibilities • Reads customer blueprints and drawings, takes measurements to plan layout, details, and procedures for conducting welding operations – gathering required tools and materials based on provided instructions and specifications for each job • Set-up components for welding according to specifications to include aligning, clamping, and grinding parts that must be welded • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded • Maintains, organizes and cleans equipment and the work areas as part of a departmental team • Openly communicate lessons learned, information, and best practices with appropriate team/supervisor • Notifies supervisor/lead when equipment is faulty or defective materials are discovered Requirements • Technical welding education encouraged but not required • Experience GTAW is encouraged • Knowledge of pertinent safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing • Deftness and attention to detail – with the ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms • Professional Certification (e.g.an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Job Specifications • Must be able to weld components sitting at a bench for a long period of time. • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work • Must be able to see at close range • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials • Be safe - follow all procedures, protocols, and best practices • Sense of urgency, initiative • willingness to work overtime is preferred We are looking for people who are highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
