Structural Welders

Aerotek is currently seeking qualified welders, pipe welders, fitters, and pipefitters who are interested in a travel weld contract down in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This role offers per diem and plenty of OT. Schedule right now is currently 6 11 hours shifts per week. Positions needed: • Structural welder = AM $30, PM $32 • Fitter= Structural = AM $30, PM $32 • Pipe welder = AM $35, PM $37 • Fitter= Pipe- = AM $35, PM $37 Per diem is $125 Responsibilities • Weld using the flux cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes, on carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum structural shapes, tubing and piping • Cut, trim, fit and fabricate weldments to dimensions for building and assembling using standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade • Collaborate with lead welder to ensure that the proper weld procedure, type of material and rod size are accurately assessed for each welding project • Review engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable • Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment Preferred Skills: • For Pipe:5+ years of professional experience in GTAW welding with one or more of the following materials: SCH 10 stainless steel pipe, SCH 10 carbon steel pipe • For Structural: 5+ years of professional experience in FCAW welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, carbon steel • Previous welding qualifications qualified in accordance with one or more governing codes; AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.6, AWS D17.1, or ASME Section IX • Highly proficient in tube/pipe cutting, grinding and fabrication • Knowledge in DC, GTAW welding techniques, and engineering requirements Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Welding Technician

Job Title: Welding Technician Location: Houston, TX Department: Manufacturing / Fabrication Reports To: Area Manager Job Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Shift (6a - 2:30p) Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Technician to join our manufacturing machine shop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing precision welding operations on metal components, assemblies, and structures according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role supports production and maintenance operations and plays a key part in the fabrication of machine parts and tooling. Key Responsibilities: • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum parts. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements. • Set up and operate welding machines, fixtures, and hand tools to meet job specifications. • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality using measuring instruments and visual standards. • Conduct repairs and rework on welded components as needed. • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies. • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and fabricators to ensure proper fit-up and function. • Assist with layout, fitting, and assembly of components prior to welding. • Record and maintain welding documentation and production logs. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational welding certification preferred. • 3+ years of experience in welding within a manufacturing or machine shop environment. • Proficiency with MIG and TIG welding (additional experience with Stick, Flux-Core is a plus). • Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and PPE usage. • Ability to read mechanical drawings and weld symbols accurately. • Familiarity with machining and fabrication processes is a plus. • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Skills: • Experience with robotic or automated welding systems. • Basic fabrication and layout skills using saws, grinders, and shears. • AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent is a plus. • Experience working with jigs, fixtures, and custom tooling.
