Job Title: Welder Job Description This role is a MIG welding role. You will be responsible for setting up all material for the weld, following a blueprint or work instructions to complete the weld, and welding everything together. You will be welding on material up to 1/2 inch thick, including flat, vertical, and horizontal positions. Responsibilities include performing multi-pass welds (up to 3 times) primarily on steel material and executing a lot of tack welds. Initial tasks will include tack welding until fully trained in all processes. As you demonstrate more skill, you will handle more complex welds. Millwright/Welder Shop Foreman

Job Overview The Millwright/Welder Foreman oversees millwrights, welders, and related trades, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of projects. installing, assembling, maintaining, repairing, and fabricating industrial machinery, equipment, and structural components. They balance hands-on work with supervisory duties, coordinating schedules, assigning tasks, and maintaining productivity standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities • Supervision & Leadership • Direct and oversee millwrights and welders on job sites or in the shop. • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. • Project Management • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress. • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades. • Technical Work • Perform precision installation, alignment, and maintenance of machinery. • Carry out welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW) and fabrication tasks. • Repair and modify equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, and structural steel. • Oversee Fabrication, electrical, hydraulic repairs. • Quality & Safety • Inspect work for accuracy and quality. • Maintain safe work practices and enforce OSHA and site-specific safety rules. • Troubleshoot mechanical and welding issues on-site. • Administration • Complete daily reports, timesheets, and work orders. • Order and track materials, tools, and supplies. Skills & Competencies • Balers, shredders, conveyors, and general industrial recycling equipment knowledge. • Strong leadership and crew management abilities. • Proficiency in millwrighting (alignment, rigging, mechanical systems). • Advanced welding and fabrication skills. • Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation. • Knowledge of industrial safety standards (OSHA, MSHA, etc.). • Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills. • Ability to manage time, resources, and personnel effectively. Typical Qualifications • Journeyman Millwright and/or Journeyman Welder certification. • Several years of experience in both trades, with supervisory experience. • Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, confined space, rigging). • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites.
