We are seeking an experienced Welder to become an integral part of our team! The Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms. • **Candidate must be able to pass a welding test.*** Responsibilities: • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications • Calculate material measurements to verify specifications • Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance • Ability to perform this work proficiently at a fast pace • Reading and understanding blueprints/job specifications • Measuring and cutting material to specifications • Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together • Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances • Selecting, measuring, cutting and joining appropriate metals to specifications • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools • Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly. Qualifications: • Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields • Familiarity with welding tools and procedures • Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics • Ability to handle physical workload • Reliable/Dependable • Able to correctly read a tape measure • Minimum 1-year experience MIG Welding • Minimum 6-months welding Flux core/duel shield • Ability to perform manual labor • Ability to perform work proficiently at a fast pace • Ability to read blueprints • Ability to follow instructions provided by supervisor • 3G certification or higher preferred Company DescriptionA rapidly growing steel processing center. (Ooltewah, TN Only) Summary:Welds metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by blueprints by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts.Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal.Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.Cleans or degreases parts.Ability to MIG weld.Ability to read AWS blueprints.Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including climbing step ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
