Position Overview As a Welder at V&S Schuler Utilities Group, you will join metal parts to create strong, durable products and structures that meet exacting specifications. Key Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. • Set up welding equipment, tools, and materials for the job. • Perform welding processes including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core. • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements. • Use grinders, cutters, and other fabrication tools for prep and finishing. • Maintain and perform basic repairs on welding equipment. • Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE. • Work collaboratively to meet deadlines and production goals. • Document work completed and materials used. Qualifications • Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role. • Skilled in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.). • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents. • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. • Basic math and measurement skills. • Knowledge of safety procedures and industry best practices. • Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods. • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification preferred. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: § Perform welding set-up and/or assembly tasks as directed under the direction of the immediate supervisor § Identify and adhere to the appropriate Weld Procedure for the task at hand § Provide quality welds that meet welding procedures specifications and are approved by the Quality Control Inspector.
