Duties Duties include, but are not limited to: • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency. • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production. • MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products. • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion. • Under direct supervision, spot welds together metal components. Qualifications • Familiar with safe welding practices. • Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams, or assembly instructions. • Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel. (Can be taught) • Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table. • Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills. • Individual must be a self-starter and need minimal guidance on daily task. • Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail. • Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies. • Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
