Mancan in partnership with a manufacturing company based in Weirton, seeking skilled MIG Welders to join our team. As a MIG Welder, you will play a crucial role in the production process, responsible for welding various metal components to fabricate high-quality products. This is a full-time position offering an initial hourly wage of $17.00 per hour, with potential for growth based on performance and dedication. Prior welding experience is essential, and while certification is not required, proficiency in MIG welding techniques is a must. Shift will be Monday-Friday 4PM-2AM. Responsibilities: • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join metal parts and components according to specifications and blueprints. • Set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate settings and adjusting machinery for optimal weld quality. • Ensure all welds meet quality standards and inspect finished products to identify and correct any defects or imperfections. • Collaborate with the production team to prioritize work orders and meet production schedules effectively. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and promoting a safe work environment. • Troubleshoot and resolve any welding-related issues or equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. • Work with various metals and materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, as required by specific projects. • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate weld placement. • Continuously monitor welding operations and adjust techniques as needed to maintain consistent weld quality. • Assist in the assembly and fabrication of metal products as needed, contributing to the overall manufacturing process. Requirements: • Proven experience in MIG welding with a strong understanding of welding techniques and principles. • Proficiency in operating MIG welding equipment and related tools. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds. • Must have your own welding helmet. • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate to heavy objects. • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in meeting work schedules. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when needed. • Welding certification is not required, but it will be considered a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following): • Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools, and equipment. • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them in position for final welding. • Set up welding equipment. • Perform SMAW, FCAW, MCAW arc welding and oxyacetylene cutting on ferrous and nonferrous metals in accordance with established methods and procedures. • Maintain production documentation for each procedure. • Follow all applicable safety and sanitation procedures. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment and help to maintain a safe, clean work environment. • Participates in toolbox meetings. • Adheres to and promotes compliance with all company PPE requirements. • All other duties as assigned.
