Pipe Welder 1st Class

About the Role: As a Pipe Welder, you will play a crucial role in the shipbuilding & repair industry by ensuring the integrity and quality of welded pipe systems. You will work alongside a Pipe Fitter to weld pipe joints and make repairs on steel pipe of varying sizes and follow a variety of welding procedures. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise welding tasks that meet industry standards. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance, as your work directly impacts the performance of the final product. Ultimately, your skills will help maintain the high standards of craftsmanship that our company is known for, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Pass a 6G E6010 open root and E7018 fill and cap test on 2" and 6" sch 40 pipe. • At least 1-2 years of experience in shipyard work or industrial work. • At least 1-2 years of experience as a pipe welder. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. • Ability to read and understand piping drawings and schematics. • Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices in welding. • Ability to follow directions, work with others, and work in less-then-ideal conditions (cold, heights, small spaces.) Preferred Qualifications: • Additional certifications in specialized welding techniques. • Experience with automated welding equipment. • Knowledge of different types of metals and their welding properties. • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards. • Familiarity with the use of hand tools (wrenches, impact guns, drills. grinders, etc.) • Welding Experience (SMAW, FCAW) Responsibilities: • Perform high-quality welding on various types of pipes using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. • Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements. • Conduct inspections of welded joints to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. • Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly calibrated. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget. Currently, we are looking for a Welder to work in our second shift team. The Welder at our Asbury Road facility who will be responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing safe, reliable operation of Eriez equipment that is intended to protect our customers and their customers. This person will report to the 2nd Shift Supervisor. Responsibilities: • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job • Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead • Set machine for welding (i.e. wire feed, amperage, etc.) • Prepares, assembles, fit and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded • Perform sanitary welding tasks efficiently • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage • Operate overhead cranes, clamping devices, forklifts • Operate plasma cutter and carbon arc.
