2nd shift Welder

Job Purpose Competitive starting pay range $20-$22.50/hr, eligible $1.00 increase at 1 year, quarterly production bonus $200-$500, and full benefits from day one!!! 2nd Shift 4pm to 12:30 am ($1.50 shift differential after completing training on 1st shift 6 to 8 weeks.) Overtime available Progress Rail Machine Operators work with heavy machinery producing railroad track components. They maintain equipment to ensure it operates safely and effectively. This position is responsible to operate various hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld, fabricate or join work pieces together. Work involves safe use of various hand and power tools common to the welding trade along with various welding methods such as MIG or Stick. Key Job Elements • Pass internal welding certification in conjunction with requirements under ISO, AAR, and other regulatory agencies; • Retrieve materials assembled and weld into a finished product; • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. Fitting and weld set-up, cut material with powered saws to match measurements); • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded; • Interpret welding blueprints, assembly instructions, drawings, JSA’s, and bills of material; • Maintaining welding proficiency as required by Progress Rail QSP 4.9 as well as any applicable local and international standards; • Candidate must be able to accurately use measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, and calipers. Must be able to measure and record the required inspection information; • Candidate must be able to use various hand tools as well as pneumatic and electric powered grinders and impact wrenches, as well as overhead cranes to transport components into and out of the work area. Education / Training • HS diploma or equivalent; Qualifications and Experience • Knowledge of various types of welding (Mig, MMA, Stick, Tig); • Mechanical aptitude. • Must be quality oriented and a team player; • Must have complete understanding of safe work practices. Job Summary AMECO USA is searching for highly qualified, preferably certified Welders with excellent skills, for our Cleveland and Elyria plants. AMECO is a small, 15 to 25 employee organization, operating as a make-to-order, custom job shop. We are a contract manufacturer of custom engineered, metal fabricated, welded, and machined components, servicing a wide variety of industries, products, services, and applications. AMECO operates modern, well maintained facilities with some state of the art, heavy duty equipment to fabricate, weld, machine and process light gauge to 6"T metals, including, aluminum, carbon, and alloy stainless steels, and nickel alloys, among others. Welder/Fitter Duties: A Welder/Fitter is responsible for assisting the AMECO production team to ensure excellence in manufacturing, quality and production operations, with safety of associates being the highest priority. Some, but not all, of your expected tasks include; • Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications. • Determines required equipment, welding method and welding techniques. • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. • Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc. • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies. • Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. • Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
