Job Description • Set up and operate MIG welding machines to fabricate metal products or assemblies. • Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into welding fixtures. • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using MIG welding equipment. • Operates various punch presses, drill presses, shears, saws, and tube bending equipment. • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
