Requirements: REQUIREMENTS: a) MIG welding experience, semi-automatic MIG welding a plus. b) One-year on the job experience or welding classes/certificate desired. c) Pass JOST Welder Qualification Test d) Ability to work and communicate accurately and factual as an effective team member with fellow employees, leadmen and supervision. e) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures. Fabricator/Assembler (Spotwelder) - Level III

This is in addition to a $1/hour shift premium for 2nd shift and a $2/hour shift premium for 3rd shift. Hours for shifts are: 1st shift (7 am to 3 pm), 2nd shift (3 pm to 11 pm) and 3rd shift (11 pm to 7 am). Candidate must be able to safely and timely perform spot-welding on metal liners according to customer requirements, print specifications, as well as quality and production standards in order to meet the customers' delivery schedule. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Complies with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures, including wearing all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. • Sets-up and operates different types of spot welders and H-clips for steel. Performs proficient change-overs with no line stoppages. • Forms liners within acceptable quality and quantity standards as stated in the blue prints/route sheets. • Fits and positions product weldments having a number of parts, using welding and welding fixtures, jigs and rollers where applicable. • Recognizes and understands the functions and capabilities of the welder, H-clip machine, and roller table to ensure safe, correct and efficient operations. • Communicates effectively with others on the assembly line (pleater operator, funnel table operators, material handlers, leadership, etc.) to help keep the line operating at the desired production rate. • Completes all applicable paperwork (scrap sheets, return to stock, safety checks, first piece sheets, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner. • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. • Utilizes mechanical ability, work instructions and hand tools to complete daily tasks. • Maintains cleanliness and safety (6s) in work area as well as involved with continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. • Maintains routed standards and other key job performance metrics (change over time, scrap, return to stock, etc.) • Must be able to work scheduled overtime hours as well as over/under coverage as needed. • Assists other departments as assigned. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: (Combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience reading prints and assembling products.) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to: • Understand written and verbal instructions. • Read blueprints and routings and perform basic math skills to manage return to stock and scrap. • Perform variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment. • Interact constructively and effectively with team members on the production line to achieve the desired outcomes. • React to change positively and to handle other tasks as assigned. • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance. • Detect unusual conditions or defective material and report to supervisor. • Have the physical ability to handle any size/weight liner with or without reasonable accommodation. • Education consisting of a high school diploma/GED or a minimum of one (1) or two (2) years of related experience in lieu of education.
