Position Summary Acuren Inspection is currently looking for a Welderto support our operations for the East Region. THIS WILL BE A TRAVEL POSITION. This position will perform welding for casting upgrades, grind/rework/prep areas that require welding, and general mechanical duties. Works with numerous ASTM, MIL-standards, AWS & ASME-approved procedures as well as - Welding: MIG, TIG, Plasma & Orbital, Brazing: Torch Brazing & Silver Solder, Stress Relieve: Recirculating hot-air oven, aging and embrittlement relief. Responsibilities • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Set up components for welding according to specifications. • Operate straight and angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces • Repair castings and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety • Experience running or reviewing MVR's (Motor Vehicle Reports) and experience submitting or reviewing background checks. • Ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting deadlines. • Excellent grasp of industry terminology. • Strong accuracy and attention to detail. • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Requirements • IRATA or SPRAT Level I or higher • Recent graduate from welding school/program • General mechanical capabilities • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG specifically) • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) • Metal preparations, remove discontinuities or defects prior to any repairs made by welding • Upon completion of weld repairs, surface contours require additional grinding and finishing to meet client's specification Certified and or Previously certified in: • Structural Steel - D1.1 • R Stamp for Pressure Vessels Alterations and Repair. Welder (GTAW)

About the position The Welder (GTAW) position at T E C Industrial in Kingsport, TN involves performing welding tasks on carbon plates using GTAW techniques. The role requires passing client welding certification and entails working in an industrial chemical environment. The welder will be responsible for setting up welding machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring that all work meets safety and quality standards. This position also includes physical demands such as working at heights and in tight spaces, as well as the ability to lift and transport materials. Responsibilities • Pass Client welding certification (11507) for 2G, 3G, 4G ½” carbon plate with backing using GTAW 70s-6 wire. , • Set and adjust welding machine according to materials used. , • Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments. , • Read blueprints, PID's or instructions from supervisors. , • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications. , • Perform basic rigging practices and provide certification. , • Safely use hand and power tools and follow Company and site safety policies. , • Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components according to blueprints. , • Select equipment and perform layout, assembly, and welding applying knowledge of geometry and metallurgy. , • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding. , • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting as needed. , • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in an industrial chemical environment preferred. , • Previous welding certification required. , • Ability to pass client or company welding certification. , • Knowledge of welding techniques and metallurgy. , • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. , • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards. Shop Welder

REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid drivers license. Minimum of one year experience or technical school diploma. Strong verbal written analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to pass a basic all position welding test. Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug screening test RESPONSIBILITIES: Work under the guidance of a qualified welder lead or supervisor in the disassembly repair reassembly adjustment and testing of all products serviced by Stowers Machinery Corporation. Willing to learn how to line bore. Follows directions accurately and performs tasks in an efficient time while working with the guidance of a welder or supervisor. Work performed is mistake and errorfree. Accepts responsibility for own work and understands the impact of this work on the company. Capable of recognizing the significant from less significant in areas such as parts reusability and notifying lead or supervisor accordingly. Shows interest in own work. Has knowledge of most basic equipment (torches welders etc. and procedures and is willing to improve this knowledge. Prepared to purchase hand tools required to perform the job. Properly safeguards all tools. Keeps an updated itemized record of employeeowned tools on file which includes pictures and cost of tools and toolbox.
