Home Pride Inc. has an opening for an Operator in Bristol, VA. This position works 4, ten-hour, day shifts weekly (Mon – Thurs) Job Responsibilities: • Wears all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to include safety glasses, hearing protection and respirators. • Reviews daily production orders and follows supervisor instructions to fulfill production needs. • Ability to read weld callouts and follow welding procedure specifications when welding. • Performs or assists with pre-weld parts fitment, and post-weld cleanup, inspection and repair. • Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to be used on daily shift. • Keeps pace with other stations on the production line to ensure there are no bottle necks. • Ensures quality control checks are completed on all finished goods to maintain a high level of quality. • Conducts daily cleaning and organization of workstation to ensure safe and efficient workflow. 2nd Shift Structural Welder/Fitter

We are seeking 1st and 2nd shift WELDERS to join our team. Job duties: • Perform all duties with safety as first job responsibility. • Plan, set up, sequence and perform hand and machine welding operations for mechanical strength and pressures on diversified pieces, parts, components and assemblies of products such as columns, beams, trusses, plates, girders, flanges, web, etc. • Perform hand welding or operate machines to splice plates, weld flanges to webs, weld stiffeners or weld cover plates. • Duties require the use of tools, tapers, drawings, specifications, dial gauges, meters, clamps, grinders, chisels, brushes, hammers, pry bars, hoist and overhead crane. • Set up and operate welding equipment such as rod, wire, tractor welder, and submerged arc. • Select rods, current, pressures, fill submerged arc supply, etc., as indicated by type and thickness of metal and weld specified. • Weld to obtain proper fusion and strength of metals. • Make various lap, butt, fillet, end and similar type welds in all positions using electric arc process. • Perform minor fitting operations as required. • Use hoist or overhead crane to obtain, lift, move and position material for ease of welding. • Clean, brush, chip, grind and prepare surfaces prior to, and after, welding. • Use hoist or hook and direct for crane to move material to holding area or transfer to next operation. • Keep any necessary job time and other records as required. Instruct, train and check the work of lower classification welder or assigned helpers. • Detect faulty operation of equipment and defective materials. Refer questionable cases to the supervisor. • Maintain the equipment and work area in a clean, orderly and proper manner. • Follow Company quality and quantity work requirements and safety rules and regulations. • Detect unsafe conditions and behaviors and immediately report to supervisor. Requirements: • Minimum 3 year welding experience. • Ability to lift over 25 pounds on continuous basis; on occasion may be expected to lift up to 50 lbs. • Candidate must be able to stand for the duration of their work shift. • Frequent standing, climbing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
