Position Summary The Welder II at Engineered Products serves as a skilled welder and team member within the fabrication department. This role requires advanced MIG welding capabilities, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to lead less experienced welders in a high-volume production environment. The Welder II will ensure consistent quality, assist with process improvements, and communicate daily with the Welding lead and Operations Manager. Key Responsibilities · Perform advanced MIG welding on complex structural components with minimal supervision. · Lead a small team of welders if asked, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. · Review and interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols for production accuracy. · Conduct quality checks and ensure all welds meet or exceed industry and company standards. · Assist with troubleshooting fabrication issues and implement corrective actions. · Coordinate with the Welding lead and Ops Manager to prioritize workloads and maintain schedules. · Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal protocols. · Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Qualifications · High school diploma or GED required. The Welder I is expected to work independently, interpret fabrication drawings, and contribute to meeting production standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities · Perform MIG welding on carbon steel components based on established procedures and standards. · Fabricate and assemble metal parts using blueprints and production specifications. · Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct weld sizes, lengths, and quality. · Conduct routine inspections of welds to meet quality requirements. · Set up and operate welding equipment and fixtures with minimal supervision. · Use measuring and layout tools (e.g., tape measure, square, gauges) for accuracy. · Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. · Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
