Job Description Install, maintain and repair, as necessary, production welding equipment and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment. Assist Welding Specialist in research and development efforts to maximize efficiency and quality of welding as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Functions • Diagnose and repair welding equipment • Repair of a variety of building/facility maintenance issues as related to welding needs • Machinery rebuilding, upgrades, refurbishments, and replacements of welding equipment • Experience in welding, metal fabricating, automation, and latest trends in industry • Able to cut with oxy-fuel, plasma cutters, and arc-gouging • Ability to read blueprints and schematics • Experience in electrical desired Additional Responsibilities • Work in a safe and conscientious manner • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, on-site and off-site training courses, cleaning, trash/scrap removal, and other tasks as outlined by management • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent plus five to ten years of related experience • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence • Familiarity with AWS codes and standards • Previous certifications in the following welding processes; FCAW, SAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW • Prior maintenance related experience, including electrical and pneumatic desired • Experience with automated welding systems and PLC’s preferred • High aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving with the ability to think outside the box • Familiar with NFPA 70 and the NEC codes and standards • NFPA safety certifications preferred Additional Information Work Environment General office and production environment. Additional Information Physical Demands The ability to stand continuously is essential, with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of the position will require employees to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying heavy objects (60 lbs.) climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive motions and awkward body positioning. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
