Requirements QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • At least ten years of related experience required. • High school diploma or GED required. • Ability to obtain welding certifications required per GSM and customer procedures. • Able to interpret engineering drawings, including weld symbology. • Knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials. • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters. • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments. • Expert level knowledge of military specification and AWS specifications. • Can create tight tolerance weldments and straighten as required. • Can safely operate various hand tools, saws, grinders, and overhead cranes. • Understands all internal weld procedures and welding-related operational procedures. • Strong leadership skills. • Excellent human interaction skills • Expert in all weld process used by GSM (GTA, GMA & SMA). • Nondestructive Testing (NDT) knowledge preferred.
