RWE Clean Energy, LLC To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent Functional area: Operations & Maintenance Remuneration: Exempt The Associate, Solar Technician monitors solar & energy storage farms' availability and ensures mechanical and electrical maintenance is performed when necessary to maintain established safety and operating targets. This position is responsible for executing daily scheduling philosophy, utilizing a prioritized list of work provided by planning, with a focus on maximizing generation and ensuring work is prioritized and completed. Role Responsibilities: • Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV & battery storage electrical equipment • Ensure that all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and by site operating procedures established for Storage/Solar PV sites • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA's, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation that is required to conduct maintenance and repairs in a safe manner • Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures • Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements • Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required • Perform maintenance on BESS, trackers, inverters, and other PV electrical equipment as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Lead • Monitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriate • Perform current and voltage readings as necessary • Document all work and generate reports as necessary • Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment • At times, may assist with BOP activities • Use available tools to monitor energy output and respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions • Ensure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed by site protocols • Interface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilities • Available to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues, including emergent abnormal operating conditions, execution of maintenance, tracking work orders, resolution of O&M issues • All other duties as assigned Job Requirements and Experiences: • High School Diploma or equivalent required • Associate degree in engineering or related Science from an accredited US school other than correspondence or internet preferred • Minimum 2 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, and distribution. Preference will be given to the candidate with some renewable energy experience, preferably solar and battery storage. • Unrestricted driver license in good standing • Willing to relocate to within 1 hour drive of site • Must be skilled in at least one of the following: power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance; substations maintenance; power plant safety protocols • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures • Ability to work within tight deadlines • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer • Frequent oral and written communications • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required • Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe • First aid/CPR/AED • OSHA Certified • Shift work • This position is a combined field and office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations Physical Requirements: • Work in extreme weather conditions • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs. • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
