Solar Energy Installation Specialist

Job Summary: • Oversee the initial energization and testing of photovoltaic (PV) systems, as well as battery energy storage systems (BESS) • Collaborate with engineering teams, quality assurance specialists, project managers, construction managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution The Commissioning Engineer will have comprehensive knowledge of power systems, start-up operations, safety procedures, commissioning methodologies, vendor management, and construction coordination. Efficient time and resource management is essential to meet project timelines. This role requires an experienced engineer who can serve as the primary representative for the commissioning team on site, evaluating and implementing commissioning plans, coordinating with vendors and EPCs, managing commissioning documentation, interpreting project drawings and equipment manuals, reviewing safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and coordinating LOTO activities. We're seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in solar PV installation and/or maintenance, and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with battery energy storage systems. Additionally, proficiency in MS Office Suite, experience managing contractors, understanding of construction and engineering principles, and detail-oriented skills are required.

Solar Project Development Manager - Mid-Atlantic

What we're looking for: Nexamp is seeking a Solar Project Developer to generate a development pipeline and lead the development of a range of distributed solar and energy storage projects within the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project/land development, with 5+ years of solar and energy storage or comparable industry experience. You will be hybrid out of our Washington, DC office and will report to the Vice President, Business Development. What you'll do: • Originate and develop distributed solar and energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, title review, and other development activities. • Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts. • Negotiate complex contracts with private, commercial, and municipal counterparties. • Manage long-term relationships with property owners, energy users, and other project stakeholders. • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives. • Foster support from state, county, and local governments, community groups, and project abutters. • Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities. • Maintain development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions. • Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction. • Up to 60% travel is required; some evening and weekend work required. Compensation The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $120,000 - $130,000. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan. Those with experience at general contractor will be considered • Project and/or case management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines • High level knowledge of solar renewable energy construction process • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office • Manage construction activities, contracts, and finances to deliver projects on time and within budget • Proficient with Microsoft Project, P6 or similar scheduling software to create and manage critical path project schedule • Manage project budget, RFI, and change order management • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Proficient with contractor outreach and project estimation • Manage project RFIs, manage project submittals, and deliver project updates in organized manner • Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, inspections, contractor mobilizations, etc. with construction super intendents/site managers • Manage and develop direct reports if necessary • Strong technical understanding of drawings and specifications such that one can add value to troubleshooting/problem solving communication with contractors and superintendents • Independent thinker able to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment • Proven ability to produce error free work under deadline • Team player with strong initiative, intrinsically motivated, works autonomously • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, negotiating and customer service • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities and public officials Bachelor’s degree in a related or construction management field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
