Solar Quality Technician

Summary: Summit Ridge Energy is seeking a Solar Quality Tech to support the Company’s EPC and Operations overall execution capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic where the Company has developed a large portfolio of ground-mount solar projects, both behind the meter and community solar. The Quality tech is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of solar energy systems through inspections. This role involves evaluating the system component installation procedures to ensure compliance with Summit Ridge’s specifications and industry standards. Key responsibilities include conducting quality assurance inspections, documenting findings, and collaborating with the Summit Ridge Energy Construction Management team to address quality issues. The Quality Tech will also assist in developing quality control processes and participate in training sessions to promote best practices. Roles and Responsibilities: • The technician is responsible for visiting multiple solar projects in a region and performing routine task-based inspections during the construction phase of project portfolios. • The technician conducts quality assurance inspections, documents findings, and collaborates with internal teams to address any quality issues to prevent re-work and/or to prepare systems for commissioning and capacity testing. • Successful candidates will apply their working knowledge of guiding contractors through troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components and equipment, including but not limited to supervising the testing, maintenance, and repair of all major and balance-of-system components. • Supervise the performance of corrective actions performed by the contractor. • Create and complete observations using Summit Ridge’s Quality Program and tools. • Attend training as needed. • Assist in developing written troubleshooting and maintenance procedure documentation. • Support commissioning and post-commissioning activities as required. • Ensure that Summit Ridge’s Quality Program is being adhered to by all parties. • Adhere to workplace safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place. • Contribute to the training of project team members on quality and safety procedures and best practices in accordance with Summit Ridge’s programs and industry standards. Required Skills/Competencies: • High school degree or equivalent, some college courses preferred but not required. • 1-year technical experience and/or solar training program experience. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and ask clarifying questions as needed. • Ability to engage professionally with personnel at different levels of the company as well as contractors in the field. • Ability to work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends. • Knowledge of equipment including inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, DC collection systems, AC collection and distribution systems, energy storage systems, MV/HV systems, SCADA, meters and communication network. • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and travel to remote project sites as required 80% of the time. • Valid Driver’s License. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the capability to learn new software programs quickly • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer. Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar Construction | Arlington, VA

This role is based in Arlington, VA. On-site presence is required. About the Company Join a leading independent power producer at the forefront of renewable energy development. As a subsidiary of a publicly traded Israeli clean energy firm with over 1GW commissioned and a 7GW pipeline globally, the company is shaping the future of sustainable power in the U.S. and beyond. The Site Manager will be based in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. Travel may be required throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region up to 50% of time. In this role you will be part of the project management team for utility scale solar for our company’s projects, including coordination within the company, contractors, inspectors, consultants, local counties, and other agencies. Site Manager will oversee aspects of projects from permitting phase to closeout and turnover to operations and maintenance team. Responsibilities include estimating, contracting, compiling, and staying within project budget, creating and staying on schedule, and coordinating material procurement and delivery to ensure project is completed in an effective manner. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: • Prepare contractor agreements written to ensure compliance with project specifications, budget, and schedule. • Manage aspects of project cost accounting and project budgets to limit financial risk. • Manage drawing takeoffs, estimating and subcontractor agreements. • Coordinate aspects of the project work including equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors toward successful implementation of the project. • Work with project stakeholders, both internal and external to develop and maintain the project schedule. • Maintain professional level of communication with subcontractors, equipment and material vendors, owners, inspectors, etc. • Contribute/manage efforts to problem solve for drawing conflicts and coordination with project consultants, site managers, etc. • Assist in closeout effort of the projects including commissioning, training, warranties and operation and maintenance manuals for turnover to O&M dept. • Project budgeting, RFI and change order management. • Proficient with contractor outreach and project estimation. • Manage project RFIs and Review project submittals. • Deliver project updates in organized manner. • Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, inspections, contractor mobilizations, etc. with construction superintendents/site managers. • Strong technical understanding of drawings and specifications such that one can add value to troubleshooting/problem solving communication with contractors and superintendents. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related or construction management field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. • 2+ years track record of expertise in project management, preferably in Utility-scale renewables in Virginia/East Coast. Those with experience as a general contractor will also be considered.
