Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Solar Electrician, to join our installation crew to install best-in-class solar PV systems. We’ll get along great if you’re: • Organized • Thrive in a start-up environment and are adaptable • Proactive • Collaborative • Solution-oriented and sees opportunity in challenge • A critical thinker • Value open communication Requirements: • Familiar with the NEC Electrical Codes. • Proficient in using a multimeter • Valid Driver’s License (required for travel and company vehicle use) • Ability to withstand heights, bend, stretch, squad and lift 50-75 pounds. • Willing to travel within Florida. • Experience in Commercial and Residential electrical work • Must be able to read a print. • Expert troubleshooting skills for electrical problems Job Description: • Journeyman Electrician Preferred • Install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (DC and AC) in addition to installing raceways around residential applications include roofs, attics, walls. • Maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system. • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. • Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to house electrical switches or outlets. • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. • Capable of working at heights including on rooftops and scaffolding, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time. • Perform all construction tasks per manufacturer’s guidelines • Prepare, load, and organize installation vehicles. • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment. • Maintain and clean up the job site.
