Lead Solar Installation Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION Join Renewable Energy Design Group (RED Group): a leading solar photovoltaic (PV) design and installation company! As a Roof Lead Solar Installer, you will gain experience in onsite management of the roof portion of solar installations; oversight of roof installers’ compliance with OSHA safety standards; responsibility for roof project materials, equipment, and tools; and interactions with clients. Your excellent supervisory skills will be best utilized with a flexible and adaptable approach to our fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. Responsibilities • Upholding RED Group’s image, reputation, and core values: dedication to Quality, Safety, Family • Providing exceptional customer experiences through professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions • Supervising and leading a roof installation crew of 1-3 Solar Installers and ensuring roof safety daily, including: • Roof preparation, staging roof materials, organizing tools, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining inventory • Quickly and efficiently leading the layout, assembly, and installation of mounting hardware, racking, and roof-side electrical components in accordance with applicable standards • Managing general on-site support and maintenance, organization, and cleanliness • Motivating, supporting, and teaching roof crew members; resolving questions and concerns • Diagramming layouts and locations for PV arrays and equipment, including existing building and/or site features • Performing routine PV system maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs of modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, and weather sealing equipment Qualifications • 1 to 3 years of residential rooftop solar installation supervision experience preferred • Understanding and ability to enforce safety protocols, including OHSA safety requirements • Ability to instruct and supervise the roof crew in safe and effective use of hand and power tools • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and willingness and ability to work on ladders and rooftops the majority of days • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test • Availability and willingness to work varying, long hours including evenings and weekends when necessary • Ability to lead a team, collaborate effectively, and follow leaders’ direction Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $27.99 per hour Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Referral program • Vision insurance Schedule: • Monday to Friday • Overtime Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities • Overtime pay • Tips Work Location: In person
