Solar Technician

As the renewable industry has seen massive growth over the past couple of years our company has seen exponential growth and must keep up with the growing demand for solar energy in the residential and commercial space. Our team of experts is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and support to our customers. In this role Field Service Technicians travel to customer sites to start up, commission and safely troubleshoot and repair equipment. This position requires the ability to work independently, and candidates should have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Requires some ability to manage the projects while onsite for start-up commissioning and coordination of other trades and services. This is a good position for someone who has prior construction and/or roofing experience, thrives working with a team and takes pride in their work. Job Duties: The ideal candidate will be an integral member of a solar crew, working on residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration, and overseeing material delivery. This position requires frequent travel to project sites during construction to support customers with product related questions and/or service repairs. The Field Service Technician is crucial in optimizing product performance and providing exceptional service to customers. The Field Service Technician with thier crew will ensure accurate and timely solar installations are conducted. Safety is key so candidate will be briefed on best installation and safety practices and is expected to use them throughout the process. Additional Responsibilities: • Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities • DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing • Maintaining the vehicle, tools, meters and truck stock • Creating service reports and maintaining spare parts inventory • Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards • Create operability and major issue/downtime reports • Respond on-call for emergencies as directed by your supervisor Qualifications: • Valid Drivers License and Clean MVR are required to drive company vehicles. • Valid OSHA 10 • Apprentice Electrical License, preferred • Electrical Experience, recommended • Residential solar installation experience preferred but not required. Requirements Responsibilities • Assisting assigned Team Lead in the installation of solar PV systems and efficiency products; • Reviewing project plans and drawings for upcoming installations and install accordingly on the day of installation; communicating any changes/updates immediately to Operations department; • Maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency, with a determination to meet project timelines; • Maintaining a clean and efficient workspace, work vehicles/trailers, and maintaining provided tools/equipment and safety gear; • Working with Warehouse Manager on pick/return tickets, and job pack needs/requirements; • Assisting with the project “take-off” process, ensuring job pack is correct, complete, and loaded properly; • Ensuring a safe work environment, and strict adherence to OSHA rules/regulations and Renu safety protocol; • Contributing to the project documentation process, to include daily updates/photo uploads to Renu project management programs when assigned; • Assisting other Renu business functions as assigned.
