Key Responsibilities • The Sheet Metal Foreman will supervise and coordinate the activities of the work crew engaged in the installation of sheet metal products and equipment. • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned tradesmen. • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for area of supervision. • Direct installation of duct and equipment at the job site. • Order material, equipment, and tools as needed to maintain efficient use of labor resources. • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel. • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job. • Analyze and resolve work problems. • Maintain time records. Qualifications • Understand how to measure duct to be fabricated, and work skillfully with tools, metals and machines. • Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints. • Be able to work within precise limits and standards and perform a variety of duties that often change. • Be able to record and monitor duct cleanliness, production, and quality. • Completion of an apprenticeship program or appropriate journeyman experience. • Good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with Planning calendars. • Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction). Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar. • Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift and stoop.
