Key Responsibilities • The Sheet Metal Superintendent will supervise and coordinate the material for and activities of Foremen, Journeymen and Apprentices engaged in the installation of sheet metal systems. • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for project. • Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment and tools required at each project commencement. • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel. • Evaluate Foreman and workers abilities and expertise to ensure the most productive job placement. • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job. • Analyze and resolve work problems and maintain time records. • When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts. • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. • Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned workers. • Follow HR procedures for hiring, terminations and disciplinary actions. • Understand, or be willing to learn and apply, Lean principles and processes. Qualifications • Strong understanding of SMACNA, Florida Building and AHCA codes. • Ability to troubleshoot Test and Balance issues. • Adept working with coordinated shop drawings from BIM as well as remodel projects with only contract drawings. • Knowledge of labor tracking. • Completion of the apprenticeship program and appropriate journeyman experience preferred. OSHA30, CPR/1st Aid, Qualified Rigging and Signaling, Forklift, Fall Protection, Scissor Lift. • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
