Description: Rogers Building Solutions, Coastal Mechanical Business Unit, is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Southeast and is currently seeking experienced commercial Sheetmetal foreman to work in the Melbourne Florida area on large commercial projects. Mainly hospitals, schools, Universities, and Government facilities. The right the Sheet Metal Foreman ensures that the work is completed safely, on time, and according to specifications while maintaining high quality standards. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Requirements: 1. Supervising and Managing Crew: o Lead and oversee a team of sheet metal workers. o Assign tasks and ensure that they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. o Provide guidance and mentorship to workers, ensuring they follow safety protocols. 2. Ensuring Safety Standards: o Ensure the team adheres to OSHA and company safety regulations. o Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to minimize risks on the job site. o Ensure workers are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE). 3. Coordination and Communication: o Serve as the main point of contact between project managers, subcontractors, and workers. o Communicate effectively with other trades and ensure smooth coordination of tasks. o Report progress, issues, or delays to project managers. 4. Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: o Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for sheet metal systems. o Ensure accurate measurements and layout for ductwork, vents, and other metal systems based on designs. 5. Quality Control: o Ensure that all sheet metal work meets the required quality standards and project specifications. o Perform inspections of finished work to verify proper installation and function. 6. Material and Equipment Management: o Ensure that the correct materials and tools are available for the crew. o Order, organize, and track materials required for the job. o Maintain and care for the equipment to ensure its functionality. 7. Problem-Solving: o Identify potential issues in the installation process and provide solutions. o Handle unexpected challenges on the job site, such as design changes or material shortages. 8. Documentation and Reporting: o Keep records of daily activities, work hours, and progress. o Report any issues or discrepancies in work or materials. o Prepare and submit daily or weekly reports on job progress to the project manager. 9. Training and Development: o Provide ongoing training to new workers or apprentices on proper sheet metal installation techniques, safety practices, and tools usage. o Promote skill development to improve the overall efficiency of the crew. 10. Inspection and Testing: • Perform final inspections of installed systems to ensure they function as required (e.g., HVAC systems). • Test installed systems to check for leaks, functionality, and alignment.
