Makes calculations and uses measuring devices for layout work • Determines installation and repair methods based on blueprints, specifications, and work orders • Removes damaged, defective or obsolete sheet metal materials and parts. • Cuts, bends and shapes out pieces using power and machine tools • Inspects the accuracy of fabricated parts and makes necessary adjustments using shears, grinders and other tools • Fastens pieces of sheet metal including seams and joints with welds, bolts, cement, rivets or other connecting devices. Installs ducts and other sheet metal parts and products, lifting and setting parts in place, joining them end to end, and making connections with HVAC equipment • Operates specialized equipment including hacksaws, punch & drill presses & welding equipment to cut, alter & install parts • Follow all safety protocols and regulations Qualified candidates will have: • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
