Job Description: • Hourly wage will depend on years and level of experience. Now Hiring! Experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic. Must be able to plan, fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal parts for installation and/or repair and remodel. Utilize equipment including hand tools, power tools, fabricating machines and equipment. Must have tools of the trade as well as reliable transportation to get to any given assigned job site. May be needed for overtime. Responsibilities: · Operates fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, rolls, and routers to cut, bend, lock and form, or straighten materials. · Solder and bolt connections, apply insulation, and inspected assemblies and installation. · Accurately select gauges and types of sheet metal and non-metallic products. · Fasten seams and joints together to assemble to components into sheet metal products. · Trim, fill, grind, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts. · Inspects assemblies and installation to specification. · May require installation such as air-conditioning and heating, ventilation ducting, cabinets, shelves and other equipment. · Performs related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position. Position Requirements: · Minimum 3 + years of Sheet metal Fitting or Mechanic experience · Must be able to read and interpret blueprints · Basic reading, writing and math skills required Physical Requirements: · Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position. · Ability to accomplish Sheetmetal fabrication/installation processes in shop environments · Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes. · Must be able to lift/carry 20-25lbs on a daily basis Southern Equipment is a drug-free workplace.
