Key Responsibilities • The Sheet Metal Journeyman will assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution. • Install duct, accessories and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications. • Proper and safe use of hand tools and portable power tools. • May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications. • Must be able to take direction, be accepting to change and strive for continuous improvement. Qualifications • Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop. • Comprehension of SMACNA standards. • GED or High School Graduate Preferred. • Understand how to measure ducts for fabrication, make field modifications and install ducts by Shop Blueprints. • Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines. • Perform a variety of duties which may change often. • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment.
