Construction Estimator/Project Manager

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager & Estimator with a demonstrated record of winning public works bids. Our company is looking to grow its capacity to win government general contracts, and we believe we are a great place to work for the right candidate. Established in 1977, our firm specializes in playground and recreational equipment installation throughout California and has an exceptional reputation in the industry. This role is essential to our business operations, and we are looking for someone with experience working independently and managing an estimating program for public works construction projects. Prior qualified estimating experience is mandatory. This role reports directly to the company's CEO. Requirements: • Understanding of public works estimating; proven track record bidding construction projects • Understanding of engineering and architectural plans, drawings, and specifications; ability to read plans • Experience communicating with vendors and GCs • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Project • Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software, e.g., Procore, Sage 100 (Master Builder), Sage 300, QuickBooks Construction Edition, or similar automated bidding programs • Transportation to and from the office; may need to conduct off-site visits on behalf of the company (with mileage reimbursement) Professional Experience: • Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience with estimating or equivalent • Demonstrated experience of working as an Estimator independently or with little oversight • Experience bidding $500k+ public works jobs • Construction Management associates or bachelors degree or equivalent from a reputable university is required Responsibilities: • Create estimates based on architectural plans • Meet with clients and visit construction sites (requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license) • Work with various vendors and subcontractors to put together public works bids • Communicate with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and Foremen • Manage construction estimating processes from start to finish • Communicate with clients and represent the company in job site meetings Compensation: • Competitive salary, vacation, 401k program, expenses, and partial benefits • Please include references or other materials relevant to the application.
