Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for masonry scopes, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. • Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop comprehensive take-offs and bid packages. • Assist in the preparation of proposals and budgets for competitive and negotiated bids. • Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and vendor/subcontractor contacts specific to masonry trades. • Support pre-construction planning and provide value engineering recommendations when appropriate. • Provide part-time project management support for awarded projects, including coordinating site activities, scheduling, and assisting with procurement. • Conduct occasional site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and assist with change order identification. • Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, field crews, and internal teams to ensure alignment and progress toward project goals. • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to masonry scope. • Contribute to closeout documentation and post-project analysis to inform future estimating and project delivery practices. Qualifications • Must have 2+ years of experience in construction estimating with a focus on masonry; project management experience a plus. • High School Diploma or GED required; a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specs, and scope documents. • Familiarity with unit pricing, material takeoffs, and construction bid processes. • Strong understanding of masonry methods, materials, and building codes. • Competent in project scheduling tools and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is an asset. • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders. • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
