Summary/Objective We are looking for a flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines. Essential Functions • Level, smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete; • Finish concrete surfaces and rub concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish; • Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound; • Mold expansion joints and edges; • Sprinkle colored stone chips, powdered steel or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish; • Produce rough concrete surfaces; • Mix cement; • Direct sub grade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms; and • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds and occasionally more. Qualifications • Member in good standing with the local Union; • Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent experience; • Ability to work out of town and varying hours as required, including: over-time, evenings or weekends; • Willingness to attend required continuing education classes and receive required training; and • Willingness to attend safety meetings, monthly breakfast meetings and quarterly employee meetings. • Ability to work rapidly and accurately with tools and equipment; • Follow set procedures and standards; • Compare and recognize differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; • Picture objects from drawings or diagrams; • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked; • Calculate amounts of concrete required for each job; and • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
